I am thrilled to be part of the growing Augusta Scribes team. My court reporting career began in 1993 in Atlanta after graduating from Brown College. I moved to Augusta in 1994 for what was supposed to be six months as a fill-in court reporter. Instead of a short stay, I met my future husband, and the Augusta area has been my home ever since. I love court reporting. Depositions, or freelance reporting, is my preferred work, but I have also served as the official reporter for several local judges on an as-needed basis in the courtroom and for hearings. The only thing I love more than my work is my family. Although I have lived all over the country from Hawaii to Minnesota, we love our hometown of Harlem, just outside of Augusta. My husband Barry is a local attorney and a member of the Georgia House of Representatives. We have a son, Zach, who attends Augusta Christian Schools. We are very involved in our church, Harlem Baptist, where I serve as a leader in our children’s AWANA ministry. Working with the kids I mentor has been a great inspiration.
